A Week of High Activity....!

...The house was filled with trades working like a bunch of busy bees as well as plaster dust/old insulation/dirt and the droning of power tools...and we couldn't be happier!

First Rick the plumber came to install the outdoor water line in anticipation for the arrival of the new forest next week. However, when I told Rick the water had to flow copiously to the front "boulevard" he laughed and laughed! The low gravity fed pressure (described in earlier postings) will never (a) reach that far nor (b) provide enough water to feed the thirsty new plantings. Ooooh how he giggled and chortled! So...the new pressure pump was installed....and a beauty it is! Unfortunately there was little concern for coordinating the pump's colour (we're going for a dove gray monochrome) with the existing new heating system. I guess not all are "Jeromes"!

But...the greatest joy of all? The shower! flowing like a jet stream of hot water (from 11 something/minute to now 40 something/minute)! Taking a shower now is less of a chore and more pleasurable - so much so, I take one every night! The banker, too is thrilled with that activity (though he initially choked on the pump's cost)!

Ken and son-in-law Jay were in residence as well for the major job of re-wiring the entire house, routinely checking with maps in the "war room" for placement of plugs, switches and lights.

Jim occasionally broke away from his supervision duties to work on the project of insulating the summer kitchen/TV room. Yep it's white not pink...supposedly less scratchy and fewer bits of stuff to inhale.

And then, as if that weren't enough excitement, Ted Rankin (a.k.a. Paul Newman) came on Saturday to remove truckloads of all that brush we've been collecting into piles all over the property. I was beginning to worry that it would start rooting itself, it had sat so long, but time did reduce the size of it significantly.

So now, with the electrical scheduled to be finished on Monday (no holidays in this village!) can the drywall be far behind? I'm thinking this week will be a good one as well!
