Everyone here has our interests at heart, but the amount of work available is so much that they seem to run from one job to the next with little rest in between.
BUT...these cowboys have been our heroes!
We, on the other hand took the weekend off and did very little but R&R (the stress of cheque writing is hard on the Banker). Unfortunately, because of our sloth-like state parked in front of the TV for most of it, we missed the annual Sussex antique flea market that we had been waiting for since our arrival. I thought it was August 24th...but noooo...so missed out on an outing of furniture hunting (more stress to Jerome).
This may be a good thing however, since the barn is still full and we can't move stuff into the house until the floors are finished. So, until next year, we'll attend the occasional auctions and second hand stores!
Lots of good soaking rainy days (between sunny ones) have given me time off from dragging 250' of garden hose from new trees to shrubs and back again. In fact, there's little left to do in terms of yard work until John comes to remove some tree stumps, sod from the proposed gardens and dump some topsoil. This is all on the fall roster ....coming soon!
This slight reprive gives me time in the kitchen (such as it is) and preparing some nice meals for Jim. Now if anyone is familiar with an old "Quick Draw McGraw" character Snuffles - a dog that loved his food, you know how Jim looks during a nice meal. (click on the pic below)...a new alter ego?...I think so!
