On Weather...


I have heard y'all are suffering with an early heat wave, where as here we suffer less...much less! Before moving here, a little web surfing on climate pages revealed an interesting fact about NB - it has more sun hours than any province in Canada, but I have now concluded that fact is based on research done in the interior of the province or based on the winter months...'cause it sure ain't showing up now! The upside, is the temperature is great for working in, the downside is I need a new hair cut to maintain some modicum of control of the frizz!
We have found that the sun (and warmth of said sun) doesn't happen until around 4:00, in some ways it's perfect as that is our cocktail hour on the deck.




We've turned the dining room into the war room...project flow charts, drawings of future layouts and the computer & phone close by for research and updates, contact trades and general planning discussions. Note...there is no one there...out working?




Saturday was busy with "Teddy" helping out by removing the 2 old wooden structures behind the house (loosely labeled as garages) and taking away 2 other piles of miscellaneous debris we've been collecting. (see sidebar on the right). Jim worked (and supervised!) with him the whole time.









Another worker, Clayton came with his dump truck to assist (gotta get me on of those trucks!) Now the view from the back is soooo much better, but it has increased the volume of wind.




Then StarChoice turned up to install the dish and connect the TV. Jim is one happy camper now!
This is James (I figure he uses this name to avoid anyone putting the ie on the end!) who does the installs.






So, after a long day at the office, we were invited over to Jim and Kathi's (our "landlord & lady from the winter here - does this name combo sound familar?) for a lobster dinner. And did they serve up a bevy of red beauties!





Gwen and John, two local artists were there as well. Gwen has a great blogsite (I'm aspiring to format mine as well as hers, but either my creativity or techno knowledge has some gains to make first).
Host Jim thought there was humour in introducing me to the guests of honour prior to there demise!
